ASEAN CULTURE WEEK | MALAYSIA

ASEAN brings together 10 Southeast Asian countries — Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. It plays an important role in the world and has great significance in Nanning.

Harrow Nanning is committed to promoting the implementation of the ASEAN Culture Week project and enhancing the strategic influence of Nanning on the belt and Road initiative and ASEAN Cooperation. At the same time, as the first internationalized bilingual school in Guangxi, Harrow Nanning brings world-class education to Guangxi and provides opportunities for students to know more about the world through holistic education and colorful cultural activities. We are also looking forward to the students of Harrow Nanning gradually building a Chinese core, international perspective, and multicultural thinking through the ASEAN Cultural Weeks. 

On October 29th,Harrow Nanning – ASEAN Culture week was officially launched. All teachers and students and the staff of the Consulate General of Malaysia in Nanning experienced the authentic Malaysian culture.

ASEAN culture week is one of the culture experience activities of Harrow Nanning.By learning and experience the themed culture activities of an ASEAN country every month, students can travel to Southeast Asia at school without leaving home. The activity aims to increase the friendly interaction between ASEAN countries and China, enhancing students’ pride of own hometown and deepen their understanding of ASEAN countries. 

As the first country of the ASEAN cultural week programme, Malaysia is strongly supported by the Consulate General of Malaysia in Nanning. The Malaysian culture week has been prepared for more than one month. Before the event, the Consulate General of Malaysia with a professional cooking team visited the school to teach the school chefs to cook authentic Malaysian food. Students and teachers learned simple Malay and recorded creative videos.
