GRADE 1 – 9 (AGE 6 TO 14)

In grades 1-9, the compulsory school years are taught in accordance with China’s nine-year national curriculum, utilising innovative, high-quality, international pedagogies.

Bilingualism is a core element of our teaching strategy. Our students will not only achieve academic and linguistic excellence, but also develop their navigational skills.

The Harrow LiDe School’ bilingual curriculum has been developed by Harrow’s senior education experts and is innovative in that it:
Harrow LiDe employs a balanced and complementary approach to the development, teaching and assessment of the bilingual programme, based on scientific evidence. This will enable students to enhance their Chinese language abilities and cultural awareness, gain a deeper comprehension of subject matter through the utilisation of Chinese, and cultivate a sense of identity.

This will enable students to enhance their proficiency in the Chinese language and develop a deeper understanding of subject matter in Chinese, while also fostering their sense of identity. Conversely, the English immersion environment and the language and cultural literacy developed in the native language act as a catalyst for rapid progress in English language proficiency and multicultural thinking.

Harrow LiDe’s distinctive ‘PULSE’ teaching model ensures that the bilingual teacher plays an equally pivotal role in the learning process, complementing the expertise of the foreign teacher and aligning with the specific requirements of each class. They collaborate flexibly to prepare and deliver lessons, aligning their approach with the expertise of each group of teachers and the needs of each class.
