“The World Scholars Cup is a large-scale international academic competition officially supported by Yale University and popular in more than 70 countries around the world. The competition is divided into three rounds: regional, global and championship. The Championship will be held at Yale University, where outstanding scholars from around the world will compete in the same arena, and scholars will have the opportunity to meet Yale’s renowned faculty team and have the chance to engage in academic exchanges and discussions with them, as well as to learn about how World Scholars Cup Championship round scores can help boost their applications to Yale University and other top institutions.
The 2023 World Scholars Cup is organised around the theme of “Reconstructing the Past”, which involves six major fields – Science & Technology, History, Literature & Multimedia, Sociology, Arts & Music, and Liberal Studies – and competes in all of these fields through interdisciplinary and subjective research. Through interdisciplinary and subjective research, the programme aims to cultivate the core qualities of teamwork, international communication, innovation and critical thinking, and to nurture future scholars and leaders.
On 9-10 December, students from AISL Harrow Nanning travelled to Hainan Province to participate in the 2023 WSC World Scholars Cup. After fierce competition, Harrow Nanning won a total of 41 gold medals, 36 silver medals, and took home 6 trophies, and all 21 participants from 7 groups of teams advanced to the global round!
Congratulations to all the young scholars!
This is the second time Harrow Nanning has taken part in the World Scholar’s Cup, with the school winning 1 gold and 13 silver in last WSC global round in Xiamen, China.
Unlike last year’s online regional round, this time the competitors travelled to our sister school——AISL Harrow Haikou School to compete with international school students from all over the country.
Through this competition, not only did they gain trophies, but also friendships. We hope that the students will continue to work hard and achieve further success in the Global Round Competition to be held in Dalian, China, Tokyo, Japan, Bangkok, Thailand and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 2024!
