This time, Casso Pi, an outstanding Year 12 alumnus of AISL Harrow Shenzhen, also came to Harrow Nanning to interact with upper school students and went to the theatre to share with the audience how he managed both academics and his hobbies. At the same time, he also introduced how he helped students develop leadership skills and prepare for applying to prestigious schools through the “HELLO TRUST” leadership and service project he founded.
Casso is a shining student representative of Harrow Shenzhen. He has won two consecutive Harrow Shenzhen academic and music scholarships and won A*-A in 8 subjects in the 2023 IGCSE exam. With his outstanding academic and musical performance, he has received summer school offers from many world-class prestigious schools such as Stanford, Harvard, MIT etc.
“My goal is Stanford University.” He confidently shared his goal with us. How can you balance academics and talents and achieve excellence in multiple fields? “Casso also shared his thoughts: “I think the most important thing is to refuse to procrastinate. I always hand in all my homework on time, so that I can have enough time to develop my own hobbies, whether it is playing piano, playing badminton, or using my spare time to do some research and exploration about colleges.”
Moreover, Casso came to Harrow Nanning this time to bring the “HELLO Trust” charity project he founded to Nanning and recruit “partners” for the project in Nanning. I hope that students from Harrow Nanning can also join in to contribute your remaining energy, and contribute the four values of “Courage”, “Honour”, “Humility” and “Fellowship” of Harrowvian to charitable public welfare services projects and give back to the society.
“HELLO Turst” was founded by Casso with his own scholarship. “The scholarships are not just money for me, but also an ‘honour’. I have told myself since Year 9 that I must strictly adhere to my own standards and continue to maintain the honour that the scholarship has brought me.” After participating in the school’s 8-week care project for autistic children, I came up with the idea of founding the ‘HELLO Trust’. Now, it is not just a public welfare project to help children with autism, we hope to expand the group of care and participation, and hope that students from Harrow School can join this public welfare project, dedicating their passion and sense of responsibility to and serving society.”
“At the same time, participating in such leadership and service projects can show your sense of responsibility, passion, and leadership. This will be a huge shining point in future university application materials.”
Casso’s sharing deeply moved and inspired the Harrow Nanning students present. They saw role models and wanted to become role models. We believe that the sharing of outstanding alumni will plant a seed of hope for students, which will bear fruit in the future.
